Introduction to Cableway
Finance for All Streets
What is Cableway?
Cableway is a decentralised non-custodial yield optimizer protocol where users can participate as depositors. Depositors provide funds to a basket to earn a passive income.
Depositors buy basket tokens representing their claim on hyper-collateralized DeFi loans. These basket tokens accumulate the interest paid by borrowers over time.
Participants can also join the community by acquiring CABLE tokens. CABLE holders are authorized to release Performance fees, to participate in the evolution of the protocol, and to decide on the release of the Security fund in the event of an incident.
Please join the Cableway community Discord server; the Cableway members of the community look forward to helping you understand and use Cableway.
Why Cableway?
Cableway is a decentralized protocol generating yield on your stablecoin assets. It leverages Decentralized Finance (DeFi) mechanisms to secure loans. These loans are backed by hyper-liquid collateralized digital assets.
The Cableway Protocol has been audited and secured. The protocol is completely open source, which allows anyone to interact with the user interface client, API or directly with the smart contracts on the Polygon (Matic) network, which is secured by the Ethereum blockchain. Being open source means that you are able to build any third-party service or application to interact with the protocol and enrich your product.
How do I use the service?
In order to use the service, you simply deposit funds. After depositing, you will receive basket tokens and earn passive income based on the market borrowing demand.
You can use the protocol directly via the blockchain, or use the application made available for free. It will allow you to track your deposits and generated income more easily.
What is the cost of the service?
The platform charges 20% of performance fee. These fees are distributed to CABLE token holders, and to the Insurance pool.
Where are my deposited funds stored?
Your funds are allocated in a smart contract. The code of the smart contract is public, open source, formally verified and audited by third party auditors. You can withdraw your funds from the pool on-demand or export a tokenised version of your investor position.
Is there any risk?
No platform can be considered entirely risk free. The risks related to the Cableway platform are the smart contract risk (risk of a bug within the protocol code). Every possible step has been taken to minimise the risk as much as possible-- the protocol code is public and open source and it has been audited. You can find additional risk and security related information in Security sections.
Cableway (CABLE) token
CABLE is used as the centre of gravity of Cableway Protocol governance. CABLE is used to vote and decide on the outcome of Cableway Improvement Proposals (CIPs). Apart from this, CABLE can be staked within the protocol Safety Module to provide security/insurance to the protocol/depositors. Stakers earn staking rewards and fees from the protocol. Documentation on tokenomics and governance is available in the flash paper and with further detail in the full documentation. Feel free to join the discussion in the governance forum.
